The Park Sales Center, completed in 2018, is an architectural marvel that draws inspiration from its proximity to two landmark parks - North Sichuan Road Park and Hailun Park. This advantageous location, rare in the downtown area, prompted Lin to incorporate the concept of a park into his design. The result is a space that not only mirrors the tranquility of a park with bridges and flowing water, but also fosters a sense of harmony between humans and nature.
What sets this design apart is its innovative use of space. Lin transformed the interior into a winding path reminiscent of a leisurely stroll in a park. He also designed a complete indoor water system, creating an indoor waterscape that gives visitors the impression of walking around a lake. This clever design strategy effectively blurs the line between the interior and exterior, providing a unique experience for visitors.
Realizing this design required the use of advanced technology. A 3D model was used to build the VIP negotiation area, with the final rendering matching the model perfectly. The combination of wood veneer and LED strips creates a distinct VIP space that stands out as a spatial highlight. The glass facade, offering a view of the park landscape, completes the spatial form.
Despite the challenges posed by the construction of an indoor water pond and the transformation of the original space, which consisted of many small shops, into an open interior garden, Lin's design was executed flawlessly. The result is an oriental garden space within the building, complete with elements like bridges, flowing water, and waterfalls.
The Park Sales Center is not just an architectural masterpiece, but also a symbol of harmonious coexistence between man and nature. It's no surprise that this design was awarded the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2019, a testament to its outstanding expertise and innovation.
